Import/Export

New Zealand Alpacas have been responsible for the largest number of quality alpaca imports into New Zealand and have in conjunction with our Australian based partners Hamilton Agriculture, been involved in the import and export of alpacas worldwide.

We are proud to have supplied many of the top quality studs in New Zealand and indeed throughout the world with premium quality stock from herds such as Accoyo, Solocotta, Alianza and Chura to name but a few. In the mid 1990's Chris and Tasha helped establish and subsequently mananged the first and only privately owned off-shore quarantine facility on the island of Niue. During thier time on Niue, Chris and Tasha had the good fortune to meet and work alongside some of the world's premier breeders and vets, including Dr Ewen McMillan, Dr Jane Vaughan and Dr David "Hoppy" Hopkins.  In 1999 Chris and Tasha built and registered the Kaihere Alpaca Quarantine facility and moved to it's current location outside Cambridge in the central North Island in 2002. Since it's establishment they have successfully managed multiple shipments of alpacas from Australia, Peru and Chile.

Exports New Zealand Alpacas are NZFSA Registered Exporters and have sucesssfully managed many shipments of alpacas from New Zealand to countries around the world.  Our exports include shipments to: United Kingdom France Germany Switzerland Japan Taiwan Australia  With over a decade of experience Chris and Tash offer the best possible care for your animals whilst on farm. In addition to the quarantine services we are able to manage all aspects of the import export process. Being approx 1.5hrs from Auckland airport we also provide a cheaper, less stressful option than our South Island competitors.
